Welcome to the York Rescue Mission

The YRM is a non-profit religious organization that has been in existence for over forty-seven years.

The Mission began with the objective to offer food, clothing, shelter and spiritual guidance for the poor and needy of York County. Since early 1962, the developing of this goal has continued.

There are ten buildings used to shelter, feed, clothe, teach and educate men, women and children. Three additional buildings serve as our Economy Stores which supply needed items for clients and others in the community.

Note from Congressman Todd Platts

I salute the York Rescue Mission's commitment to serving the needs of the poor and homeless in York County. This commitment that the York County Rescue Mission has demonstrated for the past 46 years is truly remarkable and worthy of great commendation.

Note from Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker Knoll

York Union Rescue Mission has assisted in the development of people with disabilities and other vocational disadvantages for many years, and continues to set an example that other community servants should follow.

Pennsylvania is fortunate to possess an organization that provides exceptional services and help to others that have the capacity to make our world a better place.
